Two days in the bank now and they have both been absolutely fantastic. After arriving in London yesterday, I roamed around the area near my hostel then headed through Hyde Park on my way to the Science Center and History Museum. They were certainly two of coolest museums I have beent too. Huge displays of the development of the steam engine and also of excellent dinosaur fossils. They were free too!

From there I roamed around S Kensington a bit and then headed back to the hostel for a power nap. I awoke to two of my roommates coming in to the room. Liz and Kathleen are from Illinois and are doing the same post-grad trip concept as myself. It has been a lot of fun getting to know them

After the power nap I was off again to the Millenium Bridge and central London. Before hitting the tube I needed a power-up and found a great shwarma place right near the Bayswater tube stop. It was a fantastic flashback to Israel. The Millenium bridge was very pretty, but I wish it had been later at night (it probably is much prettier lit up). After that I walked through central London taking in sites such as The Clink (first prison in London), London Bridge, a Royal Navy battleship, as well as old buildings tucked inside London’s modern architecture.

Before hitting the tube back to the hospital, I hit a local pub and sampled the bartender’s beer of choice: Carling’s, not a bad brew if I say so myself.

I then headed back to the hostel pub and sipped on my Red Stripe’s with another roommate some guys from Boston and a Katrina survivor.

Today, (Friday), I travelled to Victoria (London) to purchase bus tickets for my journey to Brighton and Hove (Friday-SUnday) and Manchester (Monday-?). After a two hour adventure trying to acquire tickets, I succesfully got them, headed to Sainsbury’s for some lunch and took the tube to Notting Hill. After perusing the shoppes of Notting Hill and Portabello Market, I went into the Market Pub and proceeded to meet two women and a guy; an Italian, Spaniard and Lebanese respectively. The two women have kids and are in their 30′s and the guy just got married. Kind of felt like a baby chatting with them. We chatted over a few pints for about an hour and a half and then I headed back to the hostel. I am about to grab some dinner (its 9:44 PM) over here and then hit the pub for a brew or too. Tomorrow morning I am taking the bus to Brighton at 9 am, so I must get my beauty rest.

Drop me an email so I know you are all doing well!

Once I find an internet cafe that takes XD cards I will upload my pics
