I am writing to you all from Nice, France After 3 days in Paris and 3 days in Marseille. I am off to Rome this evening on an overnight train to meet Brett and Ackman to finish the rest of my trip with them

On my way to Paris I had a stop over is Glasgow and spent a couple hours in the city, which was very nice…

Paris was a great experience, I stayed in Montmarte a district including the famous Moulin Rouge. The famous windmill was about a 10 minute walk from my hostel. I had the opportunity to climb the Eiffel Tower, visit the Musee d’Orsay, stroll down Chaps Elysses and view the Concorde Obelisk… That was all the first day. After that I went to the Louvre on Day 02 as well as Notre Dame…and at Sam (Rochester)’s request, I visited the Shakespeare’s English Bookshop. I needed to reload on reading material…I am on my sixth book of the trip….

After that I strolled around a bit, took a power nap at the hostel and then hung out with my Canadien buddies over a few bottles of wine. We also met Waldo from Washington DC…I will certainly upload pictures of him. The next day I only had time in the morning so I just realxed and then hopped on a train to Marseille

Once in Marseille I met Jessie at the train station and we went in search of the shuttle to our hotel. With no luck on that route, we found a cheap hotel in the neighborhood of the train station and booked our nights there. For 32 euro a night I guess we shouldn’t have expected much… The rooms were terrible, there was hole for a toilet (pictures later) and no one spoke English. Hand singles and effort worked out just fine.

Marseille was much to write home about. We checked out the tourist sites and had way to much free time afterwards. Finally yesterday(saturday) we discovered these great cliffs and went on an excellent 2.5 hour hike. The Callanques massifs are what they are called. That was the highlight of Marseille.

I arrived in Nice about an hour ago and I have until 21:00 till my overnight train leaves for Roma… Probably will head to the beach after grabbing a bite to eat.

Stay well everyone and I miss you all!
